Here’s a funny one that needs some thought and some clarification from those who understand these things. A couple of days ago a few of us met up with some friends who live on Tollerton Park. During the conversation they told us that the current RBC councillor for Tollerton (Debbie Mason) has told them they do not live in the village.
This seems very odd to us. All residents of Tollerton Park pay council tax. That council tax is divided up and distributed on the usual precept formula. Tollerton receives its share of those precepts – and this includes those precepts contributed by the good residents of Tollerton Park.
So how can they be classed as non-village residents? Does this mean that they’re not in the village (somehow) and also not in Gamston, or any other conurbation? How?
