Won’t go away

The issue of PFAS won’t go away, just as actual PFAS contamination won’t go away. Neither is just going to fade into the background. PFAS hang around in the soil and in the local water supply without end. PFAS get into your body and cause horrific illnesses. Then they get into the bodies of your nearest and dearest, your children, your grandchildren, their grandchildren. This stuff doesn’t break down.

People are becoming switched-on to the massive health risks that follow behind PFAS contamination. People are also getting wise to how the results of contamination-testing have been fudged by various interested parties.

This scandalous revelation that PFAS-testing results at the former RAF Upper Heyford have been understated by 40 times (and that the PFOS finding is 43,000 times greater than the UK annual average environmental Quality Standard) should be shown to every single RBC councillor. PFAS contamination at the former RAF Tollerton is a known fact. Even the developers own ‘independent’ survey found significant PFAS contamination.

This is a health issue which cannot be left to developers to produce surveys for, just as it cannot be left to developers to clear up. PFAS contamination needs fully independent scrutiny and fully independent decontamination. If any RBC councillors can’t see these requirements, maybe those RBC councillors need to be replaced.
