This is horrific

This article in the Guardian newspaper details a scientific study which has found 42 PFAS compounds in the umbilical cords of newborns. We know the southern end of Tollerton Airfield was a regular location for fire training. We also know the fire fighting chemicals were loaded with PFAS contaminants. The water run-off from the airfield is straight into the watercourse which, ultimately, becomes our (treated) water supply. Except those 42 PFAS compounds don’t break down, they can’t be removed, they just get absorbed into the human foodchain and then, into our bodies. And now we learn we pass them on to our unborn children. And the local authority wants to build 4,000 houses on this contaminated land? This, too, is horrific.
