Rushcliffe Borough Council councillor Jonathan Wheeler (Con) has emailed a Rushcliffe resident to say the supplementary planning document (SPD) – which he and other councillors has called ‘a masterplan’ “… does not have to include highways”.
Well that’s not a plan (let alone a masterplan), is it? It’s as much of a masterplan as an empty wrapper from the Plumtree chippy.
What special skills or qualifications does cllr Jonathan Wheeler (Con) have to make this incredibly flawed statement? Well, none, it seems.
The only thing that’s completely clear is without the full traffic analysis as requested by Nottinghamshire County Council and National Highways, the SPD is not any kind of a plan. Councillor Wheeler – and all other RBC councillors – need to understand this simple fact.
