Today I learned that our local pet shop – Tollerton Pets/Village Pets – will be closing down at the end of this month (November 2025). For the last five years we’ve been using Tollerton Pets for everything for our cat, our aged Labrador and my daughter’s 2 cats when they came to stay.
We believe in supporting local businesses instead of commercial chains. Local businesses put money, time, and effort into our local economy. Tollerton Pets has been a friend to the village for years. They’ve supported the Village Day through sponsorship and commercial support and we – as local pet owners – have supported Tollerton Pets.
The loss to the village – and local pet owners – will be such a shame. Also a shame will be that the closest independent (ie, non-chain) pet shop is in Ruddington.
