Well, the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan consultation has ended. Did you make your voice heard? Of course, it doesn’t end here. There will be discussions at Greater Nottingham level and at Rushcliffe Borough Council level. More view will be sought. More information will be provided. Here’s what we should be doing:

  1. Lobby your parish councillors. Make them keenly aware of your feelings. Ensure they know how important your views are. Make sure you inform them they are working for you, not for anyone else
  2. Lobby your Rushcliffe councillor(s). In Tollerton we have only one representative at RBC, you can find their details here. Write to your councillor. and explain what you like, what you don’t like, what you want and what you don’t want. Ask them what they’re doing about it (this is really important – make sure they’re doing something). Do they hold public surgeries in the constituency? If they do go and lobby them in person.
  3. Lobby the County Council. Tollerton does not have a dedicated county councillor, we’re lumped in with Cotgrave but don’t let that discourage you from contacting Richard Butler and making your feelings known.
  4. Lobby your MP. James Naish is new to the area and new to Parliament, but if you don’t lobby him he won’t know what’s going on here – he’ll be unaware how high feelings are running. You can email him here.

The bottom line is just because the consultation on the Greater Nottingham Strategic Plan has closed, this issue is still very much ‘live’. Keep it going.
